‘Lake Symposium’ is a biennial event being organized under the aegis of The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. The brain child of IISc, the symposium has been one of the most successful events in creating public awareness on environmental degradation and related issues. Students of Vidyaniketan Public School and Pre-University College participated in the finale in two categories-Paper Presentation and Poster Making, which was held on December 22, 23, 24 and 25 at Alva’s Group of Institutions at Moodbidiri. Dr. T. V. Ramachandra, Chairman, Lake Symposium 2018, and Dr.Uttam Kumar, an alumnus of IISc who is currently working with NASA, interacted with the participants. The research paper on ‘Prospects of Energy Conservation’ by Vidyaniketan Pre-University students (Rahul Bharadwaj, RachanaBharadwaj, VaishanthBharadwaj and Yashaswini T. N) won the First Place in the Paper Presentation category. In the poster Making categotySudeepHegde (I PUC) won the First Prize.
