Major changes have been brought about in the educational scenario by the Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) in the academic year 2017-18.This landmark reform encourages profound learning in students by placing an increased responsibility on part of schools to implement its recommendations in true spirit.
Empowered with a potent combination of Periodic Tests and Examinations, our curricular plan employs various assessment strategies (viz. Project Work, Journals. Seminars, Collaborative Work etc) at appropriate junctures, provide students with feedback on their understanding of key concepts and their application. As academicians and teachers, it offers vital insights on differentiated levels of student comprehension and learning, allowing us to introspect and alter our strategies to facilitate effective learning.
Replacing the Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation(CCE), the uniform system of assessment has been introduced. Adhering to the guidelines of CBSE, our school has adopted the remodeling the assessment structure comprising of two terms in an academic year with 80 marks paper at the end of the term, covering the whole syllabus.
Keeping in mind the holistic approach of education, the co-scholastic aspects and discipline among students are also graded on a five-point grading scale (A to E).
It is important to understand that the uniform system of assessment that has been recommended by the Board requires students to learn a finite set of concepts or lessons and take up the final examination comprising of 100% syllabus.
